dotgrids:Hello fellow students! I have wanted to learn Japanese for a while now, and setting Neko Atsume to Japanese didn’t help much. So, today I have started learning Japanese and French. I found many French masterposts, but a surprising lack of Japanese. I decided to make my own. This is my first masterpost, so be kind. All of the resources are free, online copies, which I do not own. Things I plan on using are maked with a *It is up to you which alphabet to learn first, but it is suggested to learn hiragana first, then katakana, followed by kanji. Apparently, romanji is not commonly used.T E X T B O O K S :*Genki 1- highly suggested textbook, only first two lessons are in kana (hiragana and katakana), the rest is kanji.*NHK- easy to read, very cute, goes along with this website, which is (appropriately) kawaii, mostly hiraganaIntro to Japanese Language- very dense reading, with a focus on grammarGuide to Grammar- although *technically* not a textbook, it is a great learning source, 354 pages of grammarH I R A G A N A :*Practice Sheets are used to practice writing. Although you most likely won’t write in Japanese often, it is a fun and interesting thing to learn.K A T A K A N A :Practice sheetsK A N J I :*Practice sheets*WorkbookW E B S I T E S :*Memrise- really really good! Like duolingo, but for other languages, less pleasing interface, but highly recommend.Japanese Lesson- Good lessons, videos, etc.*Quizlet- I made class for beginners in Japanese, which anyone can join.
