All my teen years and early 20’s I was constantly bullied and made fun of for having an abnormally sized butt. It made me self conscious for a long time, until I learned to embrace it. My grandma, mom, and both sisters were blessed with a rather large derriere as well and I learned to accept and eventually love it.Then the Kardashian getting your butt done thing started and became the “in” thing to do. I’m all about do whatever makes you happy and your body your choice, and if you want to get work on your body or not, it’s your prerogative. However, along with all of that, came a new set of bullying and ridiculing toward me. Whispers from what you could probably assume are men children asking amongst themselves if my butt was mine or not, then laugh loud enough at me for me to hear as I pass them. It brought forth all the same feelings of feeling ashamed for being born this way. Shame. Why. Why?Why should I have to explain myself to anyone that isn’t a part of my life? Why do these people choose to make assumptions, knowing truly nothing about me or my family? All it tells me is that people like that hate so hard on me or other women, because we are unachievable for them or that they wish they could have assets like this. We are out of their reach, and that’s a hard pill for them to swallow, so they revert to baseless ridiculing and bullying.This goes for my entire female lineage on my moms side of the family. We are proud Ecuadorians who were very, VERY blessed by our mother and grandmother. It took a long time for me to learn to love the skin I was born with and I can only hope that others that hate so hard on me and my sisters (Amy is my sister, not my daughter- get your facts straight as I am childless) can learn to love themselves and fix what’s broken within them.
