Dan Harmon: A character that got this far and got into this much trouble, because he’s almost sociopathic. He lied about being a lawyer. He lied about going to law school. He lied about having a bachelor’s degree. So you gotta believe that he lands on his feet when opportunities arise. He’s a con man. He’s got a con man’s blood in him. He could give two shits about this.#either i’m god or the truth is relative #put it in a letter jane austen #six seasons and a movie #in which i continue to be thrilled by how much the people making this show understand what they’re doing #this is not the story of how jeff winger stops being a conman #because jeff winger; fundamentally; is NEVER GOING TO STOP BEING A CONMAN#he’s ‘jeff the liar’ #that’s just who he is! forever! ‘jeff winger doesn’t learn’ #nope; he sure as shit doesn’t #he is extremely broken and desperately unhealthy and he doesn’t really give a fuck about anything #this might be the story of how he learns to give a fuck about six other people #but it isn’t the story of how he learns to give a fuck about literally anything else whatsoever #morality is relative and nobody is as morally relativist is jeff winger #if he keeps pushing the con for long enough then he wins by default #his relationship with the study group isn’t a con #but his greendale degree will be! by hook or by crook or by vicious blackmail and firebrand grandstanding #jeff winger will get what he wants or everyone sans the study group will suffer #this is what all your heroes should look like media #this is what all your heroes would have to be to function #there’s no such thing as heroes #there’s just men like jeff winger #and let’s be honest here— isn’t jeff winger so much more interesting than your heroes? -- source link
