hellenhighwater:Well, I drew Toulon-era young JVJ and Javert, so why not break in the new sketchbook with much, much younger JVJ and Javert? I need practice drawing kids anyway. Javert: Skinny, tiny, teacher’s pet and tattle-tale. Always it when playing tag; always finder in hide and seek. Gets in lots of schoolyard fights and always has skinned knees. Screams and bites if you try to cut his hair. Constantly wears the same little coat; it’s had to be patched a lot, and it’s pretty stained, but he loves it. Wears big black rubber rainboots that are two sizes too big, and other assorted hand-me-downs. (Eventually, he will grow big whiskers to hide his enormous ears.)Valjean: big for his age, very shy, but always stands up to bullies and loves to give people “presents.” (Usually, flowers yanked up from someone’s yard, cool plants or dead bugs he found, sometimes toys he accidentally stole from school by putting them in his grubby little overall pockets and forgetting about them.) Very willing to share, but too shy to play well with others–he’s just happy to be there. He lisps when he talks and is constantly covered in dirt. He’s easily distracted, and frequently wanders off during recess because he saw something cool and had to go investigate, which gets him in trouble a lot. -- source link
