firebendingzutara: zutaraisbae: accioelements: accioelements: zutaraisbae: This scene is SOO important. Zuko goes from realization and shock to acceptance of katara’s power in less than a second. So many feelings and thoughts probably raced through his head, but in the end he pushed them aside and left only room for trust, understanding, and acceptance. In that short amount of time he probably felt surprised, frightened, impressed and a butt ton other things, but never once made katara feel judged or guilty for bloodbending, he simply accepted it as a part of her. He never questioned her and I think that’s beautiful, he completely and unconditionally stood by her side whether you see them as having a platonic or romantic relationship. this scene is so damn important & so unappreciated, he’s literally the only one who doesn’t question her needs/abilities in the whole episode he just understands why she’s doing what she’s doing, that she’s doing what she NEEDS to do to get some closure & that’s good enough & another thing!! The way he doesn’t even waver from her side is SO IMPORTANT. He could’ve backed off to the side or even gone out of the room - because nurturing Katara just bent this guys BLOOD - & no one could have really blamed him for that, but he straight up stood his ground & went back to aggressively glaring at the guy like “you’re so screwed & you deserve every moment of it” I forgot to mention how he goes from shock, but instantly goes back to dogging the other guy. He doesn’t look at katara like she’s a monster, he looks at the other guy like that full heartedly believing he deserves what comes his way. He understands the difference between her hurting someone who has done terrible things to innocent people and the guy in front of them who harms the innocent. “don’t lie! you look her in the eye and you tell me you don’t remember what you did.” and another thought, he could’ve gone ahead and let katara handle it all by herself. but he doesn’t. when the commander of the ship claims he doesn’t know what they are talking about he yells out that ^^^! he wanted katara to have closure, because he wanted her to feel okay again and he wanted to support her in any way possible. this is such an important scene. -- source link
