deathly-reality: Irma Grese, also known as the “Bitch of Belsen”, was a female guard at several Nazi camps. At Auschwitz, she rose to the rank of senior SS supervisor, the second highest rank a woman rise to. There she was in charge of 30,000 female prisoners. She later transferred to Bergen-Belsen, as a “Work Service Manager”. She was captured by the British on April 17, 1945. At the Belsen trial, Grese was accused and convicted of many atrocities against prisoners, including whipping, shooting, beating, along with psychological torture, primarily against women. She also was responsible for putting prisoners in order for the “Angel of Death” Josef Mengele, a man responsible for many atrocities against prisoners through medical experimentation (more on him later). She became the youngest person in the 20th century sentenced to death by British ruling. She was 22 years old when she was executed on December 13, 1945. -- source link
