harrypotterconfessions: I’ve been a huge Snape fan ever since the start of the series. In the last movie, during that heart wrenching scene where he’s holding Lily and crying over her death, I was seriously wishing/hoping that he would go back and comfort crying baby Harry as well. I know that might seem out of canon for Snape, but still… I would have loved to see a heart touching moment where Snape made himself pick up poor baby Harry, hold him against his chest, soothe him, and let the two of them cry together. As fresh and horrible as Lily’s death was in that moment, I think it would have been a little therapeutic for both of them, Snape using his grief to comfort Harry as well as himself. Maybe if that little moment happened, even if Harry was too little to remember, Snape would’ve been a little softer and more gracious with Harry at Hogwarts. Maybe it would’ve left a different mark on Snape’s heart, one that helped him heal a bit from his bitterness, and inclined him to act more fatherly towards Harry. Am I alone in thinking this? -- source link
