Where: London, England Don’t punch me for being a little less than enthused about London. I was expecting some great, amazing place, but it’s really just like any other city. Maybe it’s the homesickness for my nauseatingly beloved city florence, or maybe i just put my expectations too high, but London was just… okay. Sorry.. maybe i’m a hater. It just seemed really, ordinary. Actually, that’s a lie. My favorite night in london was actually the one night i spent in Upton Park in a little hostel away from the main attraction. I met some cool people, drank at a chill ass pub, and had some interesting conversations. Now that’s what’s up. However, the next day i got into London London, and it was like.. cookiecutter. i hate to say it!! I’m sorry, i’m sorry!! I don’t know what it was, but it was like…. just okay. Alright, i’m done beating up London. Maybe it’s because what we did was very cookie cutter, typical tourist. We did the double-decker tour bus, which was cool, but i think you can get by without it. It’s just like one of those things you have to do, i guess. But you dont really have to do it. Actually, i may even tell you to avoid it because… you dont really get up in the city, you just look at it from afar like a museum or something. If you really want to feel like youre part of london, take the tube. But we did see cool sights, and we did eat some good (non-pasta) food. And that was all great and beautiful. So london, you did good.. but i just wasnt ready to be thrown back into hearing only english and seeing a starbucks on every corner -- source link
