sartorsum:(PART II) - Continued from here if you missed it. This is the second half of the editorial, “Creators of Bunka Fashion College” from So-En December 1998.Each of the models is wearing an outfit created by a student of Bunka, at which the photographs were also taken. Each of the captions includes a small interview with the individual student who made the look, inquiring about such details as the theme, materials used, which designers they found inspiring, and challenges they encountered throughout the design process. The look on the left in photo 1 is concerned with deconstructed militaria, made by a student who cited Dirk Van Saene as an influence. I’ve mentioned before that So-En is published by Bunka Publishing Bureau in affiliation with Bunka Fukuso Gakuin, which is part of the reason they worked (and still work) closely with the students at the school. In addition to their So-En Prize spread featured in every issue, they consistently include student work, interviews with students, and even editorials featuring the students themselves as models in the magazine in the interest of supporting young designers. (And I think that’s beautiful.) XIV -- source link
