namehart: snidleyquiplash: namehart: dont blame me it could be a green lantern ring ^.^… I know you said it as a joke, but now I really want Lena to become the Green Lantern. It actually fits really well with her character. Here’s why: one thing we know about Lena Luthor is she’s a willful person. What she already struggles with are her own rage and fear, personified by the Red Lantern and Yellow Lantern - Green Lantern’s natural enemies. It would be a fascinating dynamic to see play out, though admittedly I love superhero stories where the hero’s superpowers magnify the strengths and flaws of the person underneath. Plus, imagine this: Supergirl takes Green Lantern to the DEO to be all “hey, look at this new superhero - we can all agree that she’s good, right?” J’onn is all “Yeah man, Green Lanterns are the shit. I should know, I’m a goddamn Martian Manhunter.” And everyone’s like, “shit if J’onn’s cool with this…” Then Supergirl gets a call and she’s like, “crap, gotta change for work.” There’s a gust of wind and standing in front of Lena is none other than Kara Danvers in a red sweater and a plaid skirt. Lena’s shook for a moment, but it totally makes sense. “Supergirl…is Kara Danvers…”“Uh-huh! But don’t tell anyone it’s a-”Lena wills away her Green Lantern mask.“-secret.” The rest of Lena’s costume disappears - willed away by the ring and replaced with the black leather dress she was wearing before danger struck. Neither of the women move for a long time, each processing this moment. Kara, finally revealed to the woman she loves. Lena, finally good enough to love herself and Kara. Tears in her eyes, Lena pulls Kara in for a hug - the ring shining with brilliant green light. -- source link
