Finally, with some help and encouragement I managed to get through it. Special thanks to my fiance for carrying me through and not letting me die in a deep, deep sea of despair :D Steven Universe ala “The Swing” in homage to one of my fave painters, Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Okay I’m sorry if you don’t like having things added to your posts but this was too exciting and I wanted to share.So not only has the artist done an absolutely kickass job on this painting (seriously this is amazing), but the symbolism from the original remains completely intact. The painting was commissioned by a french baron who wanted a painting of himself and his mistress. He instructed Fragonard to paint him in the bushes in the foreground such that he would have a good view of her legs (Yes this is a very sexual painting). The figure in the background was his mistress’ husband.So yeah. Not only is this a lovely recreation of a beautiful painting, but the meaning for all of the characters remains really consistent. -- source link
