ellabebella: ACCEPTANCE A month ago I heard some kids talking outside my window, a boy and a girl. They couldn’t have been more than 14 or 15 years old. They seemed to be laughing and joking around. When a young man said, “Oh you are so f*ucking stupid!” and laughed at his own wittiness, my ears perked up. “I am not!” the girl protested. “Oh but you are!” the boy insisted. I was emotionally invested now so I paid attention. I fully expected the girl to yell at him, maybe slap him and storm off but she didn’t. There was silence for a moment and then the boy said “Oh, you are pouting now?” Another moment of silence. The silence was then broken with her giggling and they seemed to have made up. Initially I was surprised by her reaction but then I thought back to that age when there was nothing more important than having a boy like you, even pride and dignity, and I understood and sympathized with her. I wonder if they are still together and happy. If she kept up that attitude, I suspect they may be. -- source link
