The colossal scale of Antarctica’s landscape is staggering, even more so when seen from a helicopter dancing above it all. Yesterday my pilot pointed out an iceberg that looked so shallow from the sky, until we dropped down to hover next to it and checked his altimeter: 200 feet (or at least 30 stories high, to put it in American building terms). He hovered near a stunning ice cave in the side of the iceberg, before continuing onward to the glacial valleys. -- source link
