lecho: Happy Valentine’s Day! ⛵️ - #1. Madi Scott and John Silver (Black Sails)“Do not ask me to choose between a war and a wife. I do not think you are going to like the answer.” – John Silver to Captain FlintThese two was the unlikeliest of couples, and I’m sure those around them never would’ve guessed that they’d fall in love. Being as Madi was African, and a Princess to the Maroon Colony that was hidden somewhere off the coast of Nassau. She was fiercely protective of her people and was determined to free them all from the bonds that was England. And Silver couldn’t be more different; he was a liar, a con man, a survivor who was living on the fringes of society being that he was a pirate. Furthermore, John Silver had shown no interest in saving the world, specifically slaves, much less being in love. He hardly showed any interest in sex. For his life was all about survival, getting what he could get. However, when he met Madi Scott, many things changed…From the moment these two locked eyes, there was a quickening between them. For he let down his guard and allowed her to see him at his most vulnerable, while she trusted him with her most private thoughts, confiding in him her struggles with his people as well as her mother. They fought a battle on her island, a war in Nassau, survived the “death” of one another and the devastation over the loss of her father. Through it all, they grew incredibly close, but were tested by one final act of love or was it betrayal? Madi saw it as a betrayal, but Silver saw it as an act of love. Did they survive it? It can be concluded that they did, that somehow they worked through it for 20-30 years later, Silver referenced returning to his “Ole Misses” and retiring in the book Treasure Island. My continued love for Madi Scott and John Silver: Moonlight Over of Isle of HopeThe Return -- source link
