They were also theologians capable of a complex but also elevated cosmology that coincided with everything that has occurred on earth. Like the conquistadors proved when arriving in Mexico, they venerated the cross and holy virgin mother of the incarnate deity. They were astronomers and astrologers capable of measuring the sky in ways that now seem impossible. The numerical magic used by the Aztecs to uncover astrological signs now results extremely complex and difficult to interpret.  THE VIRGIN OF MAIZ:  Twelve years after Hernan Cortes landed in Mexico, on the twelfth day of the twelfth month, the Virgin of Guadalupe revealed herself to Juan Diego. The Mexican people were represented in the twelfth hieroglyph with a skull which meant they would either die or transform.  The twelfth hieroglyph has instead of hair, the material with which Juan Diego’s blanket was made. It also symbolized the town of Malinalco, founded by the lunar terrestrial goddess, Malinal Zochitl or Flor de Malinalli. All of the elements representing the Virgin of Guadalupe can be found in the twelfth hieroglyph.  FROM TWELVE TO THE THIRTEEN OF RESURRECTION:  The hieroglyph of Mictlan is also associated with the number twelve from a funeral perspective. It corresponds to hell, the reign of the lord of the dead, Huemac or Pluton.  If the twelfth hieroglyph belongs to the renewed town, it also corresponds with the man being hugged by death, who receives the fatigued son and takes care of him. It is the unity or mother that takes the bulk tied to Malinali from death. It takes control of twelve to reunite it and give birth to it, renewed.  MOST COMPLEX ZODIAC:  The Aztec year had 365 days and was divided into 18 months with 20 days. To make the necessary adjustments they would leave 5 day margin. It included twenty symbols and thirteen numbers which implied 260 days in context of a second calendar. With these reality was regarded as well as the thirteen skies and nine underworlds.  BETWEEN HEAVEN AND HELL:  The number thirteen is a decisive one in the harmony of the twelve zodiac signs. It has the value of silence within the structure of harmony. It is the key factor that never makes itself present.
