Here is a comic from the Patreon sketch blog that I thought turned out well. If this kind of thing interests you, check out the Patreon sketch blog! You can ask a question or make a comic-related sketch request weekly and I’ll choose a couple to draw. The blog has a lot of information about the characters and their backstories, and most of the entries are done in short comic form:Tater tot hotdishI don’t think they really will be, tbh. They weren’t really plot-relevant in the original comic either, I just wanted to make a family tree for Beth and flesh out her family history a little more. Beth’s relationship with her family only gets tougher as she gets older so while her parents et al are important to the plot, they aren’t seen too often because she tries to avoid them as much as possible.Looking at her original family tree, there were more blondes and brunettes than gingers, but who cares. Also, I don’t think Jeordie really has any issues with gingers, considering he’s bonezoned at least one.Beth’s beehive hairstyle in her early-20s design is kinda stupid but I also kind of like it. She’s meant to look a little like Shannon Shaw from Shannon and the Clams. I am also playing with the idea of giving her a bunch of tattoos when she’s older because it always seemed a little odd that she didn’t have any, but on the other hand…fuck that. I have too many characters with tattoos and it is such a pain to keep track of them all.The “hotel thing” Beth is talking about is Pedicord Apartments by Edward and Nancy Kienholz, an installation at the Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis. I first went through it when I was 8 and was fascinated/creeped out by it. I thought about it a lot as I got older but I couldn’t remember where it was or what it was called, and every time I talked about it nobody knew what I was talking about, so I thought maybe it was something that I had imagined.Rigsby WIRigsby WI on Patreon -- source link
