It’s so much more complicated — my identity varies so much on any given day. Sometimes I tell people I’m gold or something.” Read more | Follow policymic I appreciate that it includes a bit from the original article, which clarifies: “This growing community encompasses people who see themselves as agender (neither male nor female), bi-gender (both genders) and gender-fluid (shifting from male to female).” THIS IS SERIOUSLY THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN A PHOTO SET OF AGENDER PEOPLE ON THIS SITE!!! *BOUNCES UP AND DOWN IN EXCITEMENT* as usual there’s some gross comments so don’t scroll too far down past the article but this is otherwise good this is great i guess but…overwhelmingy white…agender/nb poc exsist too. as do fat agender and nb ppl….yall need to cut out worshipping white agender and nb ppl bc theyre becoming the face of those communities An addition for anyone who wants to get mad at poc for complaining about this. This narrative that focuses only on white nonbinary identities continues to erase the fact that many cultures and races had/have genders that are what we would consider outside the binary and were forced to stop due too colonization. White people forced their views of gender(and many other things) onto those communities and now take credit for “challenging social norms” the very same ones they created in the first place. No one directly blames the individuals in the article, but they and any white nonbinary individuals should be aware of this a learn to call this stuff out and try to center nonbinary poc instead. -- source link
