eregyrn-falls-art:TINY MOSS!On my commute this morning I happened to look at a tree I pass all the time, and realized that it was getting bright new leaves on the moss. It looked spectacular and impossibly lush. So I couldn’t resist stopping to pet it, and take some pics. (Also shown – my fingers for scale; and the lichen on the south side of the tree, while the moss is on the north.) This was a maple tree that is getting deep purple leaves, but I’m not sure yet what kind of maple it is. I also tried to figure out what kind of moss, but I haven’t had luck identifying it yet. I might take a sample on my way home to get a closer look. There are several other maples all in a row, but this is the one that had the most moss on it.At bottom is a vine-y thing that is coming in on a low wall. I know that when things start flowering, there’s a lot of honeysuckle in it, but I’m not sure if it’s ALL honeysuckle, or partly something else. This morning’s rain was of the “aggressively misting” kind, which I thought looked cool as it created all those silvery droplets on the leaves.OH WOULD YOU LOOK AT THE TIME -- source link
