Headquarters (located on Roosevelt Island in the movie), the National Mall, etc.A little more information for those who aren’t up on all the DC neighborhoods:- Rent around Dupont Circle is EXPENSIVE AS HELL. It obviously pays to be Captain America!- Steve is about 1 mile away from both the White House and the Vice President’s house, which is located in the same compound as the US Naval Observatory. He’s also located around a lot of embassies. Which means he’d be seeing Secret Service, MPD, and foreign dignitary vehicles pass by all day long, and motorcades, which would be a nice reminder of how far removed from everyday people politicians have become and also the security state we’ve constructed post-9/11.- His commute to SHIELD should take about 15 minutes, but depending on traffic could take as long as 45 minutes. Just to illustrate how bad DC traffic is.- Dupont Circle is a historically gay neighborhood. The Capital Pride parade even starts here. JUST SAYING.For referencefor some reason steve gravitates to gay neighbourhoodsAlso, he’s next door to some good, cheap Greek food. (Zorba’s, the blue-and-white building).   -- source link
