She took counsel from her cousin and boldly approached King Xerxes to advocate for her people who were being heavily persecuted by his aid, Haman. Esther goes on to gain much more agency in helping the Jewish people, and then also has Haman and all 10 of his sons impaled on 75-foot poles.
