I grew up in a fairly open family and community and still I was so confused for so long because I was never aro, so I dreamt of a cute relationship, of holding hands, of spending my life with someone, but the mere thought of kissing was enough to give me the creeps. I had resigned myself to dying alone and miserable and then I found out about aces, aros and, specially, demis which is where I found myself. I still have to constantly deal with woke people, activists on LGBTQ rights even who have no idea what demis are or simply don’t believe they exist, but I find love and acceptance in many other places and so wish everyone could have this.
