In 2012, my friend let me pitch the idea of Leap Year Project at his monthly event for entrepreneurs. The event consisted of 5 Chicago-based companies sharing their ideas in front of 500ish people…then receiving 3 min of questions - all of which was preceded by a great individual opening the night with a Keynote presentation on a particular theme. My five-minute pitch that evening in 2012 wasn’t great, to say the least, but he was gracious. Over the following years, my friend’s event, @technori, became one of the largest monthly entrepreneurship events in the country! Tonight was his last night as CEO, and he asked me to be the keynote speaker on the topic of The Future of Work. It was a blast sharing the stage with him one last time and four years after he first gave me a shot. Thanks for letting me be a part of it all @sethkravitz. It was a special night.
