Seasons Greetings!I know what you must be thinking. The end of January is a little late for a Holiday Card, isn’t it? But with everything our family has been through over the past few months I hope you’ll forgive us for being tardy. Truth be told, I didn’t think I’d even be sending out any Christmas cards this year, but once our owner learned that we made a yearly habit of it, he insisted that we continue the tradition. So, I guess we’ll begin by getting everybody up to speed. For anyone who doesn’t already know, I got into a little legal trouble earlier in the year and I ended up paying for it with my freedom. Worse than that, the Judge who tried my case decided that my family had benefitted enough from my racist business practices to take the fall with me. This has turned out to be both good and bad. On the one hand, of course, I would much rather have my family remain free, but on the other, the fact that we were all enslaved together made it much easier for us to STAY together. All too often you see families getting split up by the Reparations Laws, and I don’t know how we would have made it through the year without each other.Other than that, there’s not much to tell I suppose. My lovely wife Martha had to leave behind her promising career of course, and our girls, Jennifer and Stacy had to drop out of college. They also had to break off their former relationships, which was hard for the both of them, but more so for Jennifer since she and Brad were thinking about getting engaged when all of this came down on our heads. Our home and all of our property was forfeited to the government, and we have since moved into our new owner, Master Johnson’s estate. We remain eternally grateful to Master Johnson for purchasing us as a complete family unit rather than breaking us up. He has been as fine and just a Master as any white slave could ever hope for and for that we thank him.Adjusting to our lives as slaves has been difficult, but I must admit, not as difficult as I had imagined. The work is hard of course, and it took us a while to get used to living in the nude (especially around each other!) but with patience, diligence and an understanding master, we have persevered, and I would like to assure all of the friends and family that this missive is going out to that we are doing as well as any slaves could hope for. I would like to thank our master one more time for allowing us to send these cards out. All too often enslavement means a total loss of contact between the enslaved individual and their free loved ones, but Master Johnson has gone the extra mile to ensure that we do not suffer that sad fate. As long as it suits him, Mr. Johnson has assured us that we will be allowed to keep contact with all of you in this manner in the years to come.Love, the Walsh Family!(P.S. A note about the enclosed picture. As anyone on our Holiday card list knows, it has long been our tradition to include a family portrait as the cover for our cards. As you might imagine, however, we were reluctant to continue this tradition considering our current perpetually naked states. Once again, our Master was understanding, and chose for us a picture that we could live with. This years portrait was taken shortly after the most recent blizzard hit our area. It was naturally the first time for any of us working outside naked in the snow, but we pulled together as a family and and had all of our assigned shoveling done within a single day. Our master caught us unawares from behind, basking in the glory of our monumental accomplishment. All things considered, I was happy that our first family portrait as slaves depicts a moment of pride and togetherness, even if I can’t say I’m entirely pleased by the idea of seeing my wife and daughters flashing their fannies in front of all of our friends and relatives (to say nothing of myself!) it is once again, probably the best that we could have hoped for, and we thank our master again for his wisdom and understanding. Master Johnson assures me however that future portraits will likely involve full frontal nudity, so if anybody on the list doesn’t want to see that, speak now or forever hold your peace!) -- source link
