Some people take advantage of grace, reducing it as an excuse for sin.Jude writes: “For certain people whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are Godless people, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality.” (Jude 1 : 4)Any concept of grace that makes us feel more comfortable about sinning is not biblical grace.God’s grace never encourages us to live in sin; on the contrary, it empowers us to say no to sin & yes to truth. It’s the polar opposite of what Dietrich Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace”.God has seen us at our worst & still loves us.No skeletons will fall out of our closets in eternity.God won’t say, “Well if I’d known that, I would have never let you into heaven!”God knows all my sins.Right down to the dregs. And Jesus died for every one of them. No exceptions.–Randy Alcorn / The Grace & Truth Paradox: Responding With Christlike BalancePsalm 32 : 1 . 5Confession & ForgivenessHappy are those whose sins are forgiven, whose wrongs are pardoned.Happy is the one whom the Lord does not accuse of doing wrong& who is free from all deceit. When I did not confess my sins,I was worn out from crying all day long.Day & night you punished me, Lord;my strength was completely drained,as moisture is dried up by the summer heat. Then I confessed my sins to you;I did not conceal my wrongdoings.I decided to confess them to you & you forgave all my sins. -- source link
