It is a tragic truth that many people who really have never come under His direction or management claim that; The Lord is my shepherd. They seem to hope that by merely admitting that He is their Shepherd somehow they will enjoy the benefits of His care & management without paying the price of forfeiting their own fickle & foolish way of life…It is there that I will discover He only can really satisfy me. It is He who makes sense & purpose & meaning come out of situations which otherwise could be but a mockery to me. Suddenly life starts to have significance. I discover I am the object of His special care & attention. Dignity & direction come into the events of my life & I see them sorting themselves out into a definite pattern of usefulness. All of this is refreshing, stimulating, invigorating. My thirst for reality in life is assuaged & I discover that I have found that satisfaction in my Master.—W. Philip Keller / A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23Psalm 23The Lord is my shepherd.I am never in need.He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside peaceful waters. He renews my soul.He guides me along the paths of righteousnessfor the sake of His name.Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because You are with me, I fear no harm.Your rod and your staff give me courage. You prepare a banquet for me while my enemies watch. You anoint my head with oil.My cup overflows.Certainly, goodness & mercy will stay close to me all the days of my life & I will remain in the Lord’s house for days without end. -- source link
