humanoidhistory:THE PLEIADES — Behold the Pleiades star cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters and M45. It lies about 400 light years away from Earth toward the constellation Taurus. The Pleiades are prominent in both the Northern and Souther Hemispheres, and they have been documented throughout history. Ancient cultures that looked and wondered include the Māori, Babylonians, Aboriginal Australians, Persians, Arabs, the Chinese, Japanese, Hindus, Greeks, Mayans, Aztecs, and Native American tribes including the Sioux and Cherokee. The cluster is known in Japan as Subaru (“unite”) and can be found in the logo and name of the Subaru car company. The Pleiades also get a few mentions in the Bible.
