whyinhades: daughterofscotland: pretzel-log1c: daughterofscotland: lennysnarts: # chillin like a villain #there’s a seat right behind him#but he’s like no let’s sit here Well sure. There he can put up his feet :D Tags from @kipsiih Odd thing to notice but my attention kept getting drawn to Len’s hands. They’re only slightly crossed over at the wrists. It’s sort of an odd way to cross your arms but it looks like that would actually be a comfortable way to rest your hands if you were in cuffs. Probably a pose he learned to find comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. So now I am curious to know what was running through Len’s mind during this scene. That’s what I thought, too. Handcuffs. Maybe it’s actually part of his resting position by now? Or he does this to remind everyone that “hey, I’m a criminal”, little shit that he is :D I think handcuffs make the most sense. Len has spent a lot of time learning how to be ‘comfortable in uncomfortable situations,’ so all these habits would have been reinforced over a lifetime. Even relaxed he’s still posturing. His choice of seat might also have to do with his maneuverability. Where he’s sitting, no one can approach Len from behind; the chair’s in the way and blocking them. He can swing his legs off the table and stand, then move either left or right, fairly easily. He’s not boxed in. Another thing is that with his legs on the table, Len is also blocking the way past. No one on the ship expects Len to move, so they won’t attempt to get around him. He’s doing it so subtly that no one would notice unless they observed him pretty closely. After all, if you see someone blocking a doorway, would you go up and ask them to move or just go through the doorway a few steps to the side? Probably the second choice, and you wouldn’t even think about it. You’d do it naturally, especially if you didn’t want to confront that person because they looked threatening. Len, first and foremost, presents himself as a threat. Len is isolating himself, creating a space around him so that no one can get close. And that’s just the way he likes it. -- source link
