Worn down by the loss of Naomi, not only have they lost their closeness but now she’s not even on the Roci. And losing Prax and the whole quest of finding Mei and keeping Prax safe. That was such an anchor, a point of certainty when it felt like everything around Amos was falling to bits - as long as he was being good to Prax he could tell himself he was a good person doing good things.
