European Rover Challenge 2015 Last weekend, I had a great pleasure of attending to this year’s edition of European Rover Challange that was held at Regional Science-Technology Centre in Checiny, Poland.Teams from all over the world came to Poland with their “martian” rovers to compete in a series of challenges, including different terrain obstacles, blind navigation, collecting samples, etc. Along the main event, there were many more cool attractions like lectures about space and space exploration, by Harrison Schmitt (Apollo 17 astronaut) or by Giancarlo Genta (Professor of Machine Design and Construction at Polytechnic University of Turin), video-conference with Andy Weir (author of “The Martian”), among many others. Many space companies and science organizations had their booths, where you could check out products and learn about their research. Overall, there were many cool things to see and attend to, so if you are a space and science geek like I am, you would really enjoy the whole event. And even if you aren’t, it still would be a really interesting experience and you would have a great time and learn a lot of awesome things. If you’d like to know more about this event, feel free to check out the official website, as well as instagram, twitter and youtube channel. You can see more photos in my facebook album, also, feel free to add me there if you want to keep up with other stuff I do :) -- source link
