The group — Malachi “Spankihanas” Jenkins, Roberto Arturo “Bad News” Smith, DJ Kev and Awol — grew up together around Compton and South Central Los Angeles, come from different gang affiliations but banded together to start a legit business that’s now getting widespread attention.
