Ran into a treasure trove of bee and wasp mimics today. The top row are all Robber Flies (Diptera: Asilidae) that mimic Bumble Bees. The bottom row are a group of Hover Flies (Diptera: Syrphidae). The left one clearly mimics Bumble Bees, but the right two mimic wasps. The far right Hover Fly even exhibits the typical wing flitting behavior seen in many spider wasps (Hymenoptera: Pompilidae)! -- source link
