It sweeps you off your feet from its opening moments and transports you into a Hollywood marvel saturated with color, dance, and blissful romance. Much like Whiplash, Chazelle directs the picture with a deep personal passion for music and again nails the struggle of pursuing elusive dreams. The colors are lifted right outta Jacques Demy’s best and the performances make you long for simpler times of Gene Kelly and Sinatra pictures. I’d bet a farm that you have the soundtrack saved on your music library. There’s no shame it it, it deserves to be there. -- source link
