chickwithmonkey:um, spoilers and stuff, i guessso i just read secret six and it is totally awesome (i did figure out what was going on) and yep, i still love ragdoll. even though wikipedia did spoil me for what happened above, i like how it happened. i was sort of talking it through with my partner as i was reading (comics are a spectator sport in my house) and he was like, “but wait for why he does it, wait for it…” and then i got to the line above.which is great and all but i don’t actually think that’s why he did it. i mean partly, yeah, but think about what life must have been like for ragdoll before he joined the six. he probably didn’t have a lot of friends either. and now he’s with people who value his contributions and sure, they think he’s weird, but they do stuff like visit him at the hospital and get him help and forgive him when he gets mind-controlled so bad he has to cut his own arm off. sure scandal has her issues about people taking advantage of knockout, but obviously there was more to it, and the team really is all about backing each other up (deadshot killing the would-be assassin so scandal didn’t have to? priceless).hatter was never going to be a member of the team. whether his dependence on the hat was a symptom or a cause of his self-centeredness, he didn’t have the capacity to put himself aside for the others, and ragdoll couldn’t risk another one of his teammates hanging off a wall begging for help. or i could be totally wrong and ragdoll really did want to be the only nutter on the team. either way, i really like these characters and am going to read ALL the comics.I love what few active members of this fandom I can find.Wow. What a beautiful take on this scene. I honestly hadn’t thought of it that way, and I spent a lot of time thinking about it because I love everything about Ragdoll. Thanks for the lovely theory~! :D -- source link
