ofhopefuldays: last part of weekly sketchbook #84! so lucy is not gonna be a thing for now but you know who is? statius!! i’ll be honest: i was Not interested in having him become a part of the main cast; i thought that virgil, bice and matilda were more than enough. a part of it had to do with how i couldn’t see him in a way that interested me, which was in turn related with how THE fuckin depiction we have of him reminded me too much of one of the main visual references for virgil. long story short, i imagined him with a ponytail and i saw the light. his personality is developing slowly but i Love him now, and can see the New things and dynamics he brings to the story and to the party, which is crucial. i can apparently only do that comfortably once there’s a face to associate it all to! look at him go.
