The awesome Sticks and Stones Agency has posted a nice selection of my shoot with Cacia Zoo in Death Valley from last April. That was our 3rd time shooting together, and our first time heading out to explore some of the vastness of California. Its a bit of a drive from Los Angeles. 5+ hours, all at 70+ mph. It was really interesting to see how Cacia reacted to the simple HUGENESS of California. It seems to stretch endlessly. I am not sure, but I think it was the first time the WEST became the WEST to her. The Western US is known for its vast scale. Everything is big - he lowest elevation in North America, the Grand Canyon, the highest mountain in the lower 48 states, the oldest trees, the tallest trees, the biggest trees, places still wild, all spread out over a sprawling expanse. Experiencing it for the first time can cause a paradigm shift in those who are thinkers and dreamers, and Cacia is definitely both of those, so I felt honored to have had her along for some of my own exploration of the West in 2014. Cacia and I finally finished laying out our little book of images from our trip to Death Valley. If you want to see even more images from the shoot, go order the book now!http://www.blurb.com/b/7706252-bliss-to-be-in-awe -- source link
