This shot was taken shortly before I got super lost. I had no idea, but at this point I was already heading in the wrong direction. I’m not sure if any other tourers have had this…but the landscape & singletrack checked in with the map perfectly…the forks in the path were correct…there was even a huge lake in the right place. In other words I had no reason to think I’d taken a wrong turning. Anyway…eventually things did start to look a bit iffy and after consulting my compass I realised the scale of my mistake.
