3.07 GerontionI’m not even going to pretend I know what ‘Gerontion’ means. XD All I know is, that was a moment of gratuitous fan service for those of us who like Rupert Friend. He should take a shower every episode. lolSo, with the way the season started, there was really no way to go but up. This episode was a step in that direction. We’re back to the espionage side of things and that is what this show does best. So while Saul worked on turning Javadi against Iran, Carrie and Quinn had to clean up Javadi’s bloody mess.Local police had already opened an investigation of the murders of Javadi’s ex-wife and daughter-in-law. Due to some really unfortunate luck, Quinn was caught in the scene of the crime by the neighbor’s security camera. Pretty clear picture too. The camera must have been a rotating kind or something because Carrie and Javadi were not captured at all. Quinn now has some 'splainin to do when Carrie was unable to convince the local detectives to close the case for national security purposes.Carrie used the toilet in the crime scene of an active investigation. I don’t think she’s allowed to do that. XD DAMN YOU MORNING SICKNESS! It was morning sickness, right? She’s been doing this job for far too long to be sickened by the sight of a bloody corpse. Or maybe her emotions got too much for her again. She is off her meds after all. BECAUSE SHE’S PREGNANT. So it was actually a rational decision to dump her meds, not a bi-polar/crazy one.Anyway, Quinn went in to confess to the murders because no one can know Javadi was in the country for their double agent plan to work. Clearly his accidental killing of the little boy in Caracas is messing with him. He’s already having issues with the way they’re doing things, ie, killing people (or getting them killed) in order to keep America safe. Quinn is the 'one who kills bad guys’ and he’s not sure who the bad guys are anymore. :( Poor guy. But he’s also the guy who gets things done and when Carrie asks for something, he’ll get it done. 'Anything you need, Carrie’ <3What Carrie needs? Proof that Brody wasn’t involved in the Langley bombing. Yeah, she’s back on that again. Javadi led her to believe that someone else planted that bomb. But Brody could have just as easily handed his car keys over for someone else to deliver it. Regardless, Carrie needs to find that bomber and learn the truth.Saul meanwhile worked on blackmailing Javadi into working for them. Javadi initially refused but Saul made it clear that he was going back to Iran one way or another: as an American asset or as a Revolutionary Guard target. Self-preservation won out and Carrie put Javadi on a plane to Iran.Just in time for Saul to show his face at Langley and explain his absence to Dar Adal and Senator Lockhart. He stalled quite well, waiting for that plane to clear American airspace before finally revealing that Javadi was on American soil but not anymore. Lockhart was livid because who in the right mind will let a terrorist like that just leave? Well, obviously Saul. He even locked the Senator in a conference room because he can. He’s still Acting Director for ten more days dammit. I like that Dar took Saul’s side. And that he didn’t take offense at being kept out of the loop. I thought after last week’s events, he was going to ditch Saul.Saul needs all the friends he can keep because Mira. :(Next episode is episode 8, the end of the 'second movement.’ Something huge is gonna happen. Perhaps Brody will show his face again. But this was 100% Brody-less and I did not miss any of them. The show is not making a very good argument for keeping the Brodys around. XD -- source link
