9.06 Heaven Can’t WaitThis needs to be the only time I do an SPN post late. Also, the only time the brothers spend 95% of the episode apart. It’s simply not the same when they have separate plot lines. Almost as bad as one having all of the plot, while the other one stands pretty in the background. Almost. That being said, this was actually a lot more entertaining than the other Winchesters-being-apart episodes. Mostly because while the reason for them working without the other has been the same for the past few seasons (Dean working with good, ie, Cas; Sam working with evil, ie, Crowley), they’re still very much on the same side.Kevin hit a dead end in translating the Angel tablet, coming across some ancient language even a Prophet of God can’t read. This forced them to come to their captive demon for help. So while Dean dodged research work, Sam and Kevin had to convince Crowley to read the tablet for them. After all that work to prevent the tablet from falling into his hands, they give what was written on it to him on a piece of paper. XD As long as it’s just a few words right?Crowley demanded a phone call in exchange for his services and a few drops of Kevin’s blood and several minutes on hold later (lol demon phone lines get bad traffic too), he was finally connected to Abaddon. He might have wished he skipped the chat because he only learned that Abaddon was messing with his ‘system’ by collecting souls ahead of time, breaking contracts along the way. Abaddon was building an army and she is taking the crown from Crowley by ditching 'systems’ and instead banking on chaos. I’m sure that will never backfire on her.Being the man of word that he is, Crowley read out loud the goofy symbols Kevin drew out. And the way to rid the Earth of scumbag angels is… nothing. D: There is no way to reverse Metatron’s spell! The angels are stuck hijacking human bodies (with permission) foreverrrr! Now, we can never be 100% sure with Crowley, he might just be making this shit up but why would he lie about something like this? I’m sure he’s not a fan of the current not-so-heavenly situation himself. If anything, he’d be helping Sam and Dean get the angels home as fast as possible. Also, the fact that he sorta kinda wants to be human now I think? He snuck a syringe of Kevin’s blood and injected himself with it. I see now why Sam abandoned Winchester tradition by not having Kevin slice his forearm/palm open and let the blood drip into the bowl. No, the syringe needed to happen because Crowley needed to steal a stash later. XD I was kind of 'huh?’ when Sam just emptied the syringe into the bowl because HAHA what a waste of syringe but okay.Meanwhile, Dean. He finally tracked Cas down who is working in a local store as a Sales Associate. WTG Cas landing a respectable job despite not having experience/references/an actual bed to sleep in! Also, all the love for not holding a grudge against Dean for throwing him out of the bunker. Cas has made himself a decent human being by even telling Dean about a possible case while trying to (unsuccessfully) operate a slushie machine. It’s not Cas’ fault that every other human being he comes across is not so decent. I mean, really, Nora? She did that on purpose. She led him on and everything because she needed a sitter. Dean gave Cas pointers! Cas plucked a rose from her garden! Cas waved Dean away! And then she goes bowling with another dude. :( At least we got a little singing Cas. Five years ago, I never would have thought that will actually happen on screen. XD And Cas was super adorable getting freaked over the baby being too warm. I thought it had just peed on him or something. :))Eventually, the case of the pink deaths found its way to Cas because Cas is sad. Apparently there’s this specific type of angel (will not attempt to write what they’re called) that only exists to alleviate suffering. They only understand hurt, and making the hurt go away by making them explode into little itty bitty pieces that only a fine mist of pink remains. Cas recognized the pink stuff so even angels in their true forms have blood (but they don’t bleed?) or maybe the pink is just their signature. Eh.Point is, psycho Tyler from Revenge now wants to 'help’ Cas by turning him into pink mush because angels do not understand humans at all. But of course Dean will recognize the back of the truck that almost backed into his baby anywhere so he came just in time to be knocked away into a wall. lol Dean, it’s amazing you’re still concussion- and broken-bones-free. All he did was toss Cas the angel blade and Cas did all the killing this time. They must have been super fast in cleaning up the angel wing marks on the floor because Nora was oblivious to the things that happened to her house and only managed to tell Cas he was 'special’ before closing the door.So. No way to shepherd the angels back into heaven. Abaddon is gearing up to take over hell and release all its rotten glory on Earth. Crowley is slowly becoming human. Cas has become human. And as much as he would like to stay away from any supernatural boss fights, it’s not going to happen. Hunters cannot get away from the life. And even though he’s currently in denial, he certainly is one now. -- source link
