Mel Mel is undoubtadly the most famous of the Patagonia Orcas - for twenty years his crooked dorsal fin was the first signal of his families arrival in Patagonia. But in 2011 Mel disappeared. However, this is not the first time Patagonia Orcas have disappeared, between 1993 and 1997 few orcas were seen in Patagonia, Mel was not among the ones that were. It is possible that Mel may yet return to Patagonia, there is a whole ocean for him to hide in after all… -- source link
