Here is my comic for this year’s Comic Book League anthology, 100 Years Later. As with last year’s anthology, this one was debuted at this year’s Denver Comic Con and proceeds go towards helping students get exposure through tabling at conventions and inviting guest speakers to the school. The theme for this year was a bit more complicated and close to home. Set 100 years after a devastating natural disaster that caused the entire west coast to break off or disappear. The survivors on the new west coast, the Rocky Mountains, celebrate their continued existence. There is quite a variety of different stories in this year’s anthology, from sentient plants and aliens to young love stories. My story is centered round fond memories of a friend and I visiting the overlook above Boulder at night to chat. My thought of the world centered around the theme is that the mountains were raised onto a plateau and the surrounding cities were abandoned or destroyed, which includes Boulder. The mountains are also kind of stigmatized and seen as very dangerous and unstable, so few go there. Also- haha, future clothes. I don’t even. They have built in oxygen/filters for the altitude/pollution?? Yeah.I’m happy I was able to contribute, but it almost didn’t happen! I had to do this last minute and all 4/5 pages were done in approximately 15hrs! It shows.Anyway, as always, enjoy! -- source link
