So let’s see what we get when we do a little math based off of each stated foods nutritional facts:When you divide the amount of protein by the amount of calories, you come up with about 0.08 grams of protein per calorie of broccoli. Multiply that by 100 (the graphic’s stated value) you get about 8 grams of protein per 100 calories. That’s not what the graphic says.Now for the beef. There are different types of beef, so I’m going with what is pictured: steak. If we do the math, a ribeye steak has about 0.12 grams of protein per calorie. Doing the math, you get about 12 grams of protein per 100 calories of steak. About right.Bottom line:Beef: 12 grams of protein per 100 caloriesBroccoli: 8 grams of protein per 100 calories.Myth busted. -- source link
