onenicebugperday:textless:When these hoppers first show up in June and July, they are white, fuzzy, and (this year, at least) incredibly plentiful. As adults, they have the elegant wedge shape you can see in the final photo, and they are nearly always green (though I have seen a couple of special pink ones). In between the fuzzy nymph stage and sleek green adulthood, they briefly look like they are made of cabbage - as in the first photo and a couple of the others. I don’t know why I find that so delightful, but spotting them at that cabbage-y moment is always a treat.Cochise County, Arizona, June and July 2020.Planthoppers!Acanalonia fasciata,Acanaloniidae -- source link
