“FCK RWE / Hambi (Forest) Stays!” RWE is an energy company which operates the massive Hambach brown coal mine in Germany, which is planned to soon devour what is left of the adjacent forest. For the past 6 years, environmental activists have resisted the destruction of the forest through a variety of tactics, including lawsuits, demonstrations and mass civil disobedience actions at the mine by the Ende Gelaende climate campaign, alongside the consistent construction of barricades, tripods and tree-houses in the forest and late night sabotage actions against mine site machinery.
