Shiny Oddish was clearly a sign. We just needed one more month to get work done on the apartment, then we could finally get out of boxes, and I could plant all the things I wanted. We’ve been grovelling at our landlord for lease extension and squeezing every penny out to pay two rents as our new place remains unlivable since. Anyway, as we’ve found out, it gets no sun, so great for cooling costs, but so much for the plants.But restrictions are easing with the coming elections, and our contractor finally got clearance to start. I’m terrified, not least thanks to both the Covid and dengue (for which Maxx is high-risk) pandemics, the possibility of restriction rollbacks after elections (next week), and the fact that we’re down to playing Jenga with what money we have left to keep afloat.Still…Shiny Oddish was clearly a sign, right?
