orcinus-ocean:Part 4 of the series - Great apes! This one was the hardest for me as I wasn’t sure how to write it, I had a hard time filling it up with text (except for humans… heh), and apes aren’t really my thing, especially orangutans.Quick notice - that human is actually not a Homo sapiens.I figured I’ll be called a racist either way. If I show a black person it’s “uuuuh, you think blacks are like apes you fucking racist?”, and if I show a white person it’s “you think white people represent all humans you fucking racist?!”So I went looking for reconstructions of ancient humans, and this one is actually a Homo rhodesiensis (though where I found it it said H. antecessor). I picked it because, minus the caveman-ness with the sloping forehead and big “snout”, it looks exactly like my fiancé. XDThat was so friggin’ hilarious. I showed it to him and he laughed all day.And yeah… at its most optimistic estimate, all orangutans, gorillas and chimpanzees combined number 0.007% of the human population. This species of ours is insane.(Did you know that more than 4 babies are born every second? But not even 2 people die every second?) -- source link
