doomandgloomfromthetomb: INVISIBLE HITS: Beyond the Bootlegs: Bob Dylan’s Unreleased Holy GrailsAs you probably know, Bob Dylan’s 75th birthday is today! Holy moley. There will be endless Bob content across the internet, of course. I got in a little bit early over the weekend over on Pitchfork with this deeply nerdy look at some possible artifacts that have yet to emerge, officially or unofficially. There’s even more stuff I left out: Dylan and the Hawks at Carnegie Hall in the fall of 1965! Possible lost Blood on the Tracks tunes! Street Legal piano demos! The early 1990s David Bromberg covers album! Probably a ton of other things no one even knows about! And how about a tape of Dylan and the Band backing up Cher at David Geffen’s birthday party in 1974, pictured above? It’s probably resting in Bob’s archives, awaiting discovery. Anyway, I’ll leave it to someone else to talk about Dylan’s importance or relevance or whatever – I’ll just say that I really enjoy listening to/talking about/reading about/thinking about Bob Dylan. Without getting too grandiose, it’s a privilege to share the same plane of existence with the dude. Happy birthday! Please place Bob inside of a protective bubble. And happy b day! -- source link
