I’m so used to reading hiragana and katakana that I was at a loss for what this said. Romaji is such a crutch for people when first learning Japanese that after awhile you HAVE to shut it out. I looked it up and it’s something along the lines of “Only the best for you. Gyu-Kaku is your unrequited love…” I dunno about that, but the concept is awesome. They bring out a bucket of hot rocks and a plate of raw meat with dipping sauces. From there, it’s whatever kinds of awesome you can create for yourself. The menu varies from dozens of different cuts of beef, to horse, pork, pork belly, and more. It’s sliced about 1cm thick and is quite frankly a way more intimate and fun experience than one might think. If you don’t set yourself on fire trying to cook up some fatty slices of pork belly, that is. I never felt a compulsion to try the horse. I know that it brings up the argument of “well, why beef?” or “farm animals are farm animals”… Honestly, if someone here’s had horse, what’s the appeal? -- source link
