Welcome to the unfolding of a new year! As we reflect at the turning of the season, we may remember 2020 as a year loaded up with challenges, surprises, sadness, weirdness, and reams of confusing information. But look at how adeptly we sailed those stormy seas! Gusty winds blew strong and wild, so we just kept adjusting the sails. And here we are. Bravo for us! And If 2021 brings its own unique challenges and twists (and –I’d be willing to wager – it will!) we’ll respond to those adventures with gusto and grace too. “Bring it on,” we might say! After all, we know that the skill (and the fun) we derive from any game, sport or endeavor is facilitated by our focused attention and enthusiasm. Whatever is on the table – when we respond creatively, resourcefully, courageously – we build strength and find joy in addressing the challenges. I can’t promise you that things are going to be the way you want them to be in 2021. But I can promise you that the coming year is going to be beautiful. It will be exciting. It will be interesting. (Just as 2020 was all those things). As we honor and respect Life’s wisdom unfolding we feel moved to fully give ourselves to each experience, to each day, to each year, however it shows up. We then elevate, raise and gracefully navigate each sacred moment in our own unique way.Think of the mystery and wonder of that. You are here to encounter this time, and because you meet it with your heart open – because you greet whatever is happening in front of you with care and attention – something is better off. You are better off. Everyone involved is better off –because you asked not what Life could do for you – but what you could do for Life. What could be more beautiful? Thank you for the adventures of 2020, Dear Life. Thanks for every precious minute. In the year ahead may wisdom, strength, love and joy come ever more alive within our hearts.
