rachellweisz:You can not look at Odin’s face in the last frame and tell me that he is a bad father. That is 100% pure terror, guilt, sadness, everything. There are tears in his eyes. My unpopular opinion; Odin isn’t a bad father. He just made some mistakes, like all parents do. In his attempts to make both of his son’s feel equal, and make Loki feel accepted and not pamper him like he was more special than Thor, he ended up giving too cold a shoulder to him. But he is not a bad father. He cares so much about Loki. As a king, he thought of the political side, the peace it could bring between Asgard and Jötunheim, as a father, Loki is his son and he loves him. That is not the face of a man who is a bad father, that is not the face of a man who doesn’t love his son. We group Odin into the other Asgardians too much, the ones who didn’t mourn for Loki’s loss. I truly believe Odin mourned, you don’t save a child, take him home, raise him, call him your own, and try to do your best by him and not mourn over his loss. Odin isn’t a bad father, like all parents, he did what he thought was best at the time, and sometimes, it turns sour. He’s not perfect. -- source link
