One of my favorite things about Anna Karina’s collaborations with Godard is how well she uses exaggerated body language. I’m not a particularly huge fan of the subtle realism so trendy in acting and writing today; in my mind, a touch of melodrama is what makes all of my favorites so compelling. I had the pleasure of playing Gwendolyn once in a rendition of The Importance of Being Earnest. I drew many of my mannerisms from Anna Karina’s performances; the petulant sighs, the lingering glances… All calculated to give a touch of drama without a suspension of disbelief. -- source link
